What You’ll Do: As a Right of Way & Claims Agent, you will play a pivotal role in securing and coordinating property acquisitions essential for our Cooperative transmission facilities. You will be at the forefront of settling damage claims and fostering strong public relations between property owners and the Cooperative. Your expertise will help resolve concerns and complaints, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining our commitment to community harmony. Responsibilities will include:
Evaluate and determine the most practical and economical easement locations.
Collaborate with Project Regulatory Sections, surveyors, and engineers on transmission line routing and landowner identification.
Conduct thorough title research using internal and external resources.
Facilitate certified appraiser services and provide essential easement information for appraisals. Negotiate terms for right-of-way agreements, acquisitions, modifications, and resolutions.
Oversee condemnation activities, working with outside counsel and providing testimony when necessary.
Secure rights through negotiations with landowners, developers, builders, and governmental entities.
Collaborate with Construction Inspectors to resolve right-of-way issues during transmission line construction.
Execute tasks related to the acquisition of real property for transmission lines and substations.
Manage Cooperative real property and easement assets.
Investigate and resolve property damage claims resulting from construction and operational activities.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related business, real estate, or technical field, or
Associate’s Degree in a related business, real estate, or technical field with two years of experience in utility land acquisition and right-of-way procurement.
In-depth knowledge of real estate and land values is essential.
