  • Requires a HS diploma or equivalent plus:
    • a BS degree in a technical field or; a technical institute,
    • Adult BOCES certification, AA degree in a technical field, CCI program completion at BNL plus 4 years of experience
    • OR; a technical high school certification program (eg. BOCES) plus 5 years relevant work experience
    • OR; 6 years relevant work experience.
  • Relevant work experience should include calibration, maintenance, repair and/or upgrading electronic or mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with the use of any mechanical and electrical test and measurement equipment, such as standard scales, calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, laser particle counters, or measurement standards
  • Ability to repair, modify and build systems from schematic drawings
  • Computer skills inclusive of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with any aspect of clean room operation, work-procedures, maintenance or repair
  • Proficiency with hand tools
  • Clear and concise communication skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Training, education and/or experience with part degreasing and cleaning
  • Experience with machine tools

Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:

  • Good arm/hand dexterity
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work at heights above 6 feet
  • May need to operate heavy equipment including overhead cranes and electric lifts. Rigging and hoisting tasks may be performed
  • Good vision, mental sharpness, alertness and function in confined spaces

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Driver's License
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to travel for work on a limited basis
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This is a fully on-site position located at BNL
