We are seeking skilled and reliable Temporary Overhire Electricians to supplement our core lighting staff during peak production periods. This role is project-based and primarily focused on the physical execution of lighting load-ins, focus calls, and strikes. The ideal candidate can work efficiently as part of a team, follow directions precisely, and adhere to all safety standards.
The hourly rate for the position is $22.50
Key Responsibilities
Load-in: Read lighting plots to hang, circuit, cable, and patch lighting instruments and practicals.
Focus: Assist the Lighting Designer and Master Electrician during focus sessions, including physically positioning instruments from ladders, catwalks, or personnel lifts.
Strike: Assist in the safe and efficient dismantling, sorting, and storage of all lighting equipment at the end of a production.
Equipment Prep: Perform basic equipment checks and preparation as directed by the Master Electrician.
Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices at heights.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other production departments to ensure a smooth and safe workflow.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a stage electrician in a professional or academic setting.
Strong working knowledge of theatrical lighting equipment, including conventional and LED fixtures.
Understanding of basic electrical principles, power distribution, and safe working practices.
Familiarity with DMX and other signal protocols.
Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and hookup charts.
Must be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders, catwalks, and aerial work platforms.
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be reliable, punctual, and have a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in operating ETC Eos family lighting consoles.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
Work environment includes exposure to heights, enclosed spaces, dust, and moderate noise levels.
Hours are project-dependent and will include evenings and weekends.
