The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority at McGhee Tyson Airport is currently seeking an Airfield Electrician. In accordance with applicable electrical industry standards, the Airfield Electrician performs skilled work in the installation, operations, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and related electro-mechanical systems. They inspect and test elements of electrical systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions; repair and replaces parts and rewires circuits; calculates circuit loads; interprets electrical diagrams; determines methods and requirements for wiring circuits; as well as, maintain records of installations and systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree in electrical engineering; successful completion of a certified 4- or 5-year Electrician Journeyman apprenticeship program, or equivalent years of relevant experience
3 to 5 years of field experience related to medium voltage (600 volts or less), such as construction and electrical service work
Requires Airfield Lighting training course (AAAE or equivalent) to be completed within 24 months of hire
Requires a valid electrical license, with the ability to obtain a State of Tennessee Electrical license (LLE).
