Position Summary:

• Repairs and maintains generators and motors.
• Installs electrical conduits.
• Assists in work on switch gear and wiring for 480 volts systems.
• Cleans shop and work areas.
• Detects faulty operation of equipment; reports questionable conditions to supervisor; issues work orders to supervisor as necessary.
• Conducts inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Advises management when to reorder stock.
• Responsible for estimating work time, writing up lists of appropriate and needed materials, and providing such materials for him/herself or the group.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Provides guidance and instruction to craft trainees.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent.
• Must be a qualified journeyman electrician registered with the State of New Jersey or have completed an apprenticeship training program approved by the US Department of Labor that deals specifically with electrical work and is a minimum duration of three years.
