Job Summary The Senior Electrical/Test Engineer and Technical Project Manager will lead and manage all aspects of an A2LA-accredited testing laboratory, focusing on battery and energy storage devices. This role encompasses technical leadership, project management, engineering, and operational oversight to ensure high-quality testing services and continued growth of the facility. They will interact with clients to develop test plans, implement setups, analyze data, and maintain equipment. Additionally, they will contribute to lab upgrades and expansions and uphold ISO17025 accreditation requirements. Please note this position requries the ability to travel for client meetings and industry events.
Job Responsibilities: Lab/Facility Management:
Manage all day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including staff, equipment, and budget.
Oversee laboratory upgrades and expansions.
Maintain ISO 17025 accreditation for the laboratory through consistent quality control and documentation.
Develop and implement strategies for expanding the laboratory's capabilities and service offerings. Oversee and manage battery and energy storage testing projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client requirements.
Engineering:
Lead battery testing projects.
Design battery and system test plans; develop custom testing set ups; optimize electrical connections; manage electrochemical testing unit controls and programming; simulate photovoltaic and grid energy distributions systems; develop and integrate technologies; develop innovative technical solutions and tools; design and analyze circuits and systems.
Program data acquisition systems, analyze data, and write reports.
Customer/Client Management: Interact with customers to develop test plans and time estimates as the basis for proposals.
Identify and secure new clients and projects, managing client relationships and contracts. Build relationships with customers.
Supervision:
Lead and directly supervise 2+ engineers and technicians.
Responsible for direct performance management, disciplinary actions, performance management, employee development, training, and providing guidance.
Stay current on industry trends and technological advancements in energy storage testing.
The position supervises or manages the work of at least two full-time employees* or the equivalent. The position includes decisions or recommendations regarding personnel actions such as hiring, disciplinary action, overtime, changes in pay and terminations.
Required Qualifications: Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering field.
8 to 10 years of related engineering/lab management experience. Experience managing a testing laboratory or similar facility. Experience in battery and energy storage testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Experience with solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) development.
Knowledge of patent drafting and intellectual property.
Experience with ISO 17205 accreditation processes
