Plant Operations offers comprehensive services at The Rockefeller University,including a full range of building trades services which are responsible for routine maintenance and minor/major space alterations,plumbing,electrical,carpentry,HVAC,grounds maintenance,locksmith,custodial,moving,and setup services. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician will respond to service calls and perform repairs and maintenance such as changing light bulbs, installing new circuits and retrofitting existing fixtures to LED.
Responsibilities
Changing light bulbs, ballasts, retrofitting existing fixtures to LED.
Installation of new electrical circuits.
Will repair or replace parts such as defective bulbs, sockets, switches, fuses, and receptacles in buildings or exterior areas of the University.
Expertise on hand tools, power tools, precision measuring, testing devices, and blueprints.
Will perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications include:
High School Diploma plus five (5) years of relevant work experience as an electrical mechanic in commercial and/or industrial fields. Must be up to date with electrical codes. Expertise when working with 480, 208, and 120-volt circuits. Must be able and comfortable working in a team as well as independently.
Physical ability to perform all job duties, including the ability to work on any ladders, and scaffolds. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of university personnel.
