Our Steamboat Springs and Craig locations serve nearly 29,821 meters and over 2,840 miles of line. Our 7,000 square mile service territory extends east to the continental divide, south to almost I-70, north 10 miles into Wyoming, and west to within 25 miles of the Utah border.
What you’ll be doing:
The Engineering Project Coordinator / Inspector is a mid-level position that is part of the team responsible for executing the Cooperative’s capital projects. This role also coordinates many of the inspections of electric and fiber plant that YVEA’s Engineering Department is responsible for. The role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing capital projects while ensuring compliance and safety of the electrical and fiber optic systems of the Cooperative.
Who we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and two-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Engineering Technology, or electric utility experience such as a lineman or utility wireman. Previous working experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) is highly desirable. Familiarity with Rural Utility Service (RUS) construction or other electric utility construction specifications is preferred.
Work is performed indoors in an open office environment, and outdoors in a construction site or rural utility setting. Outdoor / indoor balance varies seasonally with the Cooperative’s construction season. May be asked to report to YVEA offices in either Steamboat Springs or Craig as needed.

The target compensation range for this role is $34.24 - $41.95 per hour and will reflect the selected candidate's experience, skills, and education.
