Position Summary Assists the Journeyman Electrician in troubleshooting, repairing and installing all phases of electrical work and cable pulling throughout the facility to provide a safe environment following manufacturer’s guidelines and standards established by the department and Denver City and County codes and NEC.
Essential Duties
Assists with the installation of new work electrical systems, troubleshooting existing electrical problems and makes necessary corrections according to the National Electrical Code.
Assists in troubleshooting electrical problems from low voltage (12 volts up to 110 volts) for controls and up to 480 volts high voltage.
Installs new circuits from power supply to usable points, pulls wire, bends pipes, new service for motors, lights, outlets, HVAC equipment and other plant equipment.
Assists with maintaining all fire alarm equipment and part of the team that conducts quarterly testing for Life Safety Codes. Ensures proper documentation and records are filled out and retained.
Responsible for all cable pulling for phones and computers. Maintains drawings and complete documentation.
Makes daily building rounds, changing light bulbs throughout the campus to insure patient and staff safety. This includes testing and replacing UV lights in TB patient areas and lets the Journeyman know of materials used to ensure sufficient stock of needed electrical materials and adequate repair parts are kept on hand.
Assists with the electrical side of the card access system including installing and troubling shooting all related components as well as doing new cards for staff and updating old ones.
Responsible for filling out work orders for projects assigned to this position with all necessary information and especially materials used.
Other Duties
Participates in capital construction projects with other trades and contractors.
Part of the snow removal team, cleaning the sidewalks leading into our buildings, and using a show shovel during snow storms.
Perform other duties as assign to help the Plant Services team assisting with Institutional requests.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience: A minimum of one (1) year progressive electrical experience preferred.
Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Current Colorado driver’s license required.
