This position is responsible for interior and exterior electrical construction and maintenance of all campus buildings, fire alarm systems, data and telephone wiring, HVAC controls wiring and exterior fixtures at Ursinus College. Employees of Ursinus College must possess excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and have an overall concern for the general welfare of the college and community and provide the best possible environment for education and student living.
Specific Responsibilities:
This job requires the use of specialized, power equipment
Always obey all safety requirements and procedures
Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use
Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work
Supply own trade tools
Supply own transportation (mileage on campus is reimbursed)
Equipment trouble-shooting
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate with a diverse community
Corrective and preventative maintenance
Establish work priorities
Complete and fill-out work orders
Self-motivated and personally accountable
Respond to on-call, after-hours emergencies
Interact with the college community
Installation and repair of electrical circuits, equipment and systems.
Installation and repair of lighting systems including sensors, fixtures and programming
Installation of data wiring
Installation and repair of telephone wiring including telephone “punch-down” panels
Installation and maintenance of exterior lighting and conduit including parking lot lights
Assist HVAC staff in control wiring
Work up to 50 feet off the ground on a lift
Snow removal as required
Special events support as needed
Bucket truck certification
Requirement and Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Journeyman Electrician License
5 years of experience in a trade
Knowledge of building electrical systems
Knowledge of fire alarm systems
Knowledge of telephone and data wiring
Knowledge of power tools
Ability to take direction from immediate supervisor
Ability to read blue prints
Ability to work hours outside of normal workweek, including weekends, evenings
