Summary:
This position will provide for the operation, installation, testing, checkout and maintenance of telecommunication and associated equipment on the Great River Energy (GRE) system.
A typical starting range for this position is $47.65 - 51.87 per hour. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Key Responsibilities:
Performs and/or assists in the installation, testing, and checkout of telecommunication and network equipment, including:
Cisco Call Manager programming
E911 call routing
Voice recording system
Video display systems
Networking routers, switches, access points, VOIP phone systems,
Motorola Trunked Mobile Radio Systems
Servers and data storage
Network cabling,
Data center site maintenance,
Alarm/monitoring systems,
Fiber optics cabling and testing,
Communication circuits troubleshooting
Maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues ranging from Systems, networking, power and HVDC
Develops and updates maintenance procedures along with maintaining equipment records.
Qualifications:
Two-year telecommunications, or networking technology, or related degree; or a diploma and/or certifications with 3+ years’ experience and knowledge in telecommunications, networks, or wireless communications.
Strong electrical and instrumentation aptitude
Knowledge of AC and DC power measurement
Experience with data center wiring best practices.
Cisco network experience/certification, as well as Avionics training are highly preferred.
Must be able to reside within a 60 mile living radius from the reporting location.

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 75 lbs., climb, balance, work at heights and work with arms above your head occasionally and/or frequently. Ability to frequently and/or occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist and squat, work on even and uneven surfaces and ability to work occasionally in confined space areas. Ability to frequently push, pull, carry, grasp and finger objects. Subject to frequent vibration and hazards and on occasion exposed to fumes, dust or mist. Must be able to differentiate colors, speak and hear. This position is designated as a safety sensitive position for drug, cannabis and alcohol testing purposes.
