The Collider-Accelerator Department is looking for a Power Distribution Electrical Supervisor to assist the Power Distribution Group Leader to coordinate and direct the work.
In this role you will plan, maintain, build, and operate the 208/120 V, 480 V experimental power distribution systems in the C-AD complex. The Power Distribution Electrical Supervisor will also review the electricians' training records, provide training or assist in enrollment of training to ensure compliance with required courses, as well as approving the electrician's timecard and executing all aspects of performance management. On a daily basis, you will provide safety and pre-job briefings and maintain the tracking of the working hours for each project work order. The power system serves the house power, lightings, diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, motor starters, motor control centers, panelboards, overhead cranes electric, control racks, power for magnet power supplies, and power for RF cavity amplifiers and power supplies. This position has a high level of interaction with an international and multicultural scientific community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs the work and manages the performance of electricians in constructing, installing, maintaining, repairing and operating electrical systems, equipment, controls and related devices. Direction includes assigning work, training, scheduling, handling employee relation matters, and technical direction
- Coordinates all work of the unit including maintaining records on work performed and employees and reports on work of the unit
- Work closely in a team environment and coordinate with other craft supervision, engineers, and department coordinators on work planning, tracking, and completion of work orders
- Supply technical assistance and information on work of the unit to Department customers, staff, and other supervisors
- Coordinate with riggers for transporting heavy equipment and mounting equipment
- Become Work Control Coordinator and perform work planning and hazard control
- Become EEI (Electrical Equipment Inspector)
- Become LEI (Local Electrical Inspector)
- Become Primary Authorized Worker for Lockout/Tagout operation
- Mark up the construction drawings for variations
- Participate in the TIER 1 Safety Inspection
- Respond to Control Room phone call at off duty hours as needed for assistance
- Occasionally will work non-regular hours for troubleshooting and/or equipment maintenance as needed
