Dakota County Technical College seeks a full-time unlimited Electrician (Electrical Construction) Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. Develop and teach curriculum in the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Technology with specialization in commercial and industrial.
Develop teaching aids and the Electrical lab layout.
Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to, instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, student recruitment and retention, student advising and placement, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, purchase supplies and equipment, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, and participate on college committees.
Required Qualifications:
Education Requirement
Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
State of Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
PLC experience.
Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population
Experience with learning communities or team teaching
Experience in curriculum development
Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including on-line instruction
Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies
Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes

Salary: Full time faculty salaries currently range from $40,912 – $85,892 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2021-2023 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
Depending on credit load, the State of Minnesota offers:
Work assignment of 171 days (August – May)
Tuition Waiver (24 credits each year at any Minnesota State College or University)
