A department within the Facilities Planning and Development Division at UC Davis Health (UCDH), Real Estate Development and Management is responsible for the planning, oversight, allocation, and management of UC Davis Health's lease portfolio as both tenant representative and owner.

ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Supervisor for Real Estate Management, the Facilities Management Specialist 4 is a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge and recognized expertise. They are responsible for managing and administering the lease portfolio, including handling landlord and tenant issues for specific assigned properties. They develop and manage multi-million-dollar annual lease and property budgets, conduct inspections of all properties on a regular basis to ensure facilities are clean, well maintained, aesthetically pleasing and safe, direct and administer contracted services for property maintenance and liaison with campus functions such as the Fire Marshal's Office, Environmental Health and Safety, and Janitorial services. Additionally, they may supervise a program to support the Real Estate Management unit, including the lease inspection management program or lease asset management program.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Policy, Construction or Facilities Management or any related area; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree (such as a current CA contractor's license in good standing or property management certification.
- Experience with facilities or property management, real estate, or leasing in a university/college environment, large commercial, and/or medical institutional setting.
- Experience with building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) to plan ongoing maintenance.
- Experience with using and creating reports in Microsoft Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Advanced skills in working collaboratively and influencing others.
- Advanced skills to organize, plan, coordinate and set priorities effectively.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications - Property Certification (RPA, CPM, etc.)
- Academic Medical Facility experience.
- Specific experience working with architects, engineers, inspectors, contractors, government agencies and University staff at all levels.
- Experience with large institution (government) policies and procedures regarding financial, contractual, administrative, constructions design, environmental health & safety, fire safety, space utilization, facilities management procedures, rules and practices.
- Experience with OSHPD, JACHO, Joint Commission, ADA, NFPA, NEC and applicable building codes.
- Advanced facilities program management, project management and development administration experience.
- Knowledge of best practices for project management.
Special Requirements - Physical/health screening required.
- May need to work weekends or holidays as per workload demands.
- Position would require the ability to travel to other University of California locations.
- Must be able to lift materials of approximately 25 lbs.
- Post successful passing of the probationary period, this position may be hybrid-remote eligible.
- This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
