Building Inspector / Plan Reviewer - Building Inspector/Plan Reviewer will perform assignments directly related to the preparation of gaining full understanding and experience of building code inspections and plan reviews. Assure compliance with applicable state and local regulations. Enforce building and safety codes, laws, regulations, and standards.
Building Inspector / Plan Reviewer Senior– Responsibilities include demonstrating a mastery of Plan Reviewer responsibilities in addition to senior reviewer duties. Building Inspector/Plan Reviewer Senior will perform plan review work, including to provide customers with general code information, guidance, and plan submittal criteria. Evaluate permit applications to determine, if necessary, code and plan submittal criteria complies with applicable state and local regulations, safety codes, laws, regulations, and standards. Perform field inspections in accordance with permitting process to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances associated with pertinent trades’ area.?
Building Inspector / Plan Reviewer - High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of work experience in building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical, plus a Journeyman's license and/or Contractor's license.
Building Inspector / Plan Reviewer Senior – High School Diploma or GED, and six (6) years of work experience in building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical, plus a Journeyman’s license and/or Contractor's license.
This is a rewarding career that helps ensure safe construction development while providing guidance to industry to ensure understanding of code requirements. The role of a Building Code Inspector/Plan Reviewer will focus on their area of discipline (building, plumbing and mechanical, or electric). New construction and renovation projects are inspected for compliance with adopted codes. Plan review for all permits will ensure projects meet minimum code requirements. Building Code Inspector/Plan Reviewers must be willing to help guide the industry and provide options for design submittals.
