Job Description Summary:

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is currently searching for multiple candidates for the Electrician openings in our Facilities department. The responsibilities of the Electrician are to construct, install, troubleshoot and test electrical systems for new construction, building renovation, and building modification in accordance with national electric codes.

Additional Responsibilities include:
- Route and install signal lines for telephones, computer networks, and other communication systems.
- Perform all required preventative and corrective maintenance to electrical systems and components on Laboratory grounds.
- Install, maintain, and operate emergency backup generators.
- Interact with Laboratory administration and scientific staff in the performance of job duties and perform additional tasks and duties as directed.

Essential Duties Summary:

Experience: Two years of relevant work experience
Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Trade school, apprenticeship or equivalent required.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and be able to work independently.
