Plant Electrician / Mechanic - 1st Shift

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

Our products are critical to the development of life saving therapies, treatments, and vaccines. As a Plant Electrician/ Mechanic, you'll make an impact by supporting the delivery of vital products to our biopharma customers.

Under supervision, a Plant Electrician / Mechanic performs a variety of tasks in the 3M Stafford Springs plant:

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical/control systems
  • Drive control components, I/O, PLC devices & logic
  • Field control devices
  • Network systems and communication
• Perform independent preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on
  • Web handling production equipment, ultrasonic welders, pleaters, pumps, heat exchangers, building HVAC, and facility utilities
• Perform basic welding, machining, and fabrication tasks using shop equipment, power tools, and precision measurement instruments
• Document work in maintenance tracking systems and develop/refine standard work for maintenance activities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical, electrical or mechatronic work in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Must be able to pass the required 3M test battery
• Possess or be in the last six (6) months of pursuing a two-year technical degree or certificate program in an engineering or maintenance related field (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Robotics & Automation, etc.)
• Possess good documentation skills and can read and understand electrical / mechanical prints
• Basic understanding of predictive/preventative maintenance and condition monitoring techniques
• Ability & willingness to work .
  • Rotating weekends as needed
  • Overtime
  • Holidays as needed
