The successful candidate will be part of a skilled trades team responsible for campus-wide maintenance activities.
High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Electrical journeyman's card or Master Electrician License from the State of Michigan and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with a variety of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems.
Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other skilled trades including plumbing and mechanical installations as these may impact electrical installations and repairs.
Ability to interpret building schematics as they apply to electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner.
Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various electrical maintenance and repair tasks; frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds to move and use tools, equipment, and the application of electrical procedures.
Valid vehicle operator's license and a driving record acceptable for coverage by the university's insurance carrier.
