-Commercial/industrial and three-phase electrical experience as an electrician. -Experience with electrical controls. -Experience using electrical system testing and diagnostic equipment. -Experience installing and troubleshooting class 1 and class 2 electrical systems. -Experience working out of an aerial bucket lift.
The Department of Facilities, Planning, and Management at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for an Electrician I who will install, maintain, and repair various electrical systems/equipment that are part of the electrical distribution systems throughout campus. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in electrical/electronic theory, terminology, and practices, and National Electrical Code (NEC); possesses practical experience in installation of electrical systems. This position requires reading and interpretation of construction documents and schematic or block diagrams; use of basic hand and power tools; use of electrical and electronic equipment; operation of light and medium duty vehicles and machinery, including aerial lifts. This position also requires the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and positively with others.
Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. â 3:30 p.m., Monday â Friday
