The Research Foundation at SUNY Cortland is seeking a part-time, temporary maintenance worker for the Lynne Parks '68 Alumni House. This position is responsible for the physical maintenance of the building and grounds for the Alumni House.
Perform general maintenance including; painting, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, basic electrical, trash removal, lawn/garden care, and snow removal.
Regular checks/maintenance on house equipment heating system, air conditioners, kitchen appliances, etc.
Assist guests with any maintenance concerns regarding their room.
Ensure all aspects of the facility are safe and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Perform facility inspections with the general manager and code inspectors: fire suppression, health department, security.
Maintain donor recognition plaques/signs.
Assist with event setups and tear downs.
Ability to operate equipment such as ladders, hand tools, tractor, and garden tools.
Position requires moderate to heavy manual effort.
A high school diploma or it's equivalent.
Two years of demonstrated work experience in general building trades, i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, etc.
Understanding of grounds maintenance.
Ability to perform general building maintenance.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Three to four years of experience in at least one trade i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, etc.
Experience using computers.
Experience managing tasks/projects.
