The George Mason University, Facilities Department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for an FCAP Inspector position. Responsibilities: The Facility Condition Inspector is responsible for assisting in the coordinating, planning and execution of the Facility Condition Assessment Program at George Mason University. This includes: conducting site visits to verify facility conditions of University buildings and infrastructure to assure quality and compliance with appropriate codes, safety standards, and construction standards (plumbing, electrical, mechanical and structural); maintaining Capital Planning/Deferred Maintenance database for new and updated buildings and infrastructure; developing cost/budget estimates for Deferred Maintenance needs and/or projects; and assisting in compiling reports, as needed.
High school graduation or equivalent;
Demonstrated years of experience in a facilities maintenance unit/operation, housekeeping or construction-related field;
A working knowledge of all construction trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general building construction.
HIGHLYPREFERRED: FMP or CFM certification;
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
