Conducts mechanical inspection and electrical testing for purchased components for our Medium Voltage Products in accordance with our Quality Management & Rockwell Production Systems. Technical Specifications include RA MV BU-defined, CSA/UL, CE and ISO. Could be assigned to maintain, control and coordinate all calibration aspects of test and measuring equipment, the crimping and pneumatic equipment, the ESD process for the plant and document control tasks, as well as other duties related to the function as required and assigned by supervision.
Incumbents also assist with product development by testing for new products per RA's PPAP process.
Successful applicants will be responsible for the following
Comply with all applicable Environment, Health, & Safety policies and procedures.
Ensure incoming component conformance to technical specification, including use of high voltage hi pot to test special high voltage purchased parts.
Ensure quick, efficient execution of our Incoming Inspection Quality Control Plan to minimize both quality & schedule risks to downstream production, respecting FIFO with only controlled expedites.
Recommend & contribute to improvements in standardized work procedures for the area, aimed at increasing incoming inspection effectiveness & manpower efficiency. Applicable metrics are our ROSS & Dock-to-Stock trends, respectively.
Chair the Incoming Inspection Material Review Board (MRB).
Maintain Incoming Inspection area in a clean and orderly manner, compliance with 6S disciplines.
Work with rest of the Operations Quality team, Supplier Quality Assurance, and Procurement in preventing recurrence of Supplier NMRs by driving corrective actions and quality control plan execution upstream to our Suppliers.
Work with the rest of the Operations Quality team, Product Quality, & Development in the assessment of product development and introduction into production; compiling/analyzing statistical information on vendor's capability & stability on Key Characteristics, as assigned.
Perform layout work on parts from new dies and parts manufactured inside or outside RA using coordinated measuring machine (CMM).
Maintain, Control and coordinate the calibration program including test and measurement, crimping and pneumatic equipment and the ESD program as well as document control tasks.
Train and/or assist other employees as required.
Working independently with minimal supervision and or/ in a team environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles as required.
Pager duties will be required- Responses to pager request and business demands outside of regular shifts is required.
