Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Theater Electrician for Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Under direction, plans, hangs and focusses all lighting and electrical effects required in television and/or theater arts or productions.
Capable of stage and electrical rigging and understanding of computer lighting systems and equipment.
Responsible for performing all technical operations related to the practical installation and application of various electronic instruments and equipment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a high school/vocational school education or equivalent plus two years' experience as a theater electrician.
Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
Requires knowledge of current theatrical lighting equipment, basic electronic operations, rigging and control systems including LED and automated fixtures, video projection equipment, scrollers, wireless systems, ETC lighting consoles, DMX and Ethernet technology, chain hoists as well as being able to work in Vector Works, Light wright and other lighting design systems and paperwork.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
May require a valid driver’s license, two years driving experience and successful completion of the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.
Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Video projection equipment, basic sound systems, ETC lighting consoles, Midas and Yamaha sound consoles, Q-Lab as well as being able to work in Vectorworks, Lightwright and other design systems and paperwork
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to work at heights on ladders and catwalks
Requires a valid drivers license.
Clean driving record.
