Job Summary/Basic Function: GENERALDESCRIPTION: Perform routine electrical work. Work involves installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and appliances. Work is performed under general supervision of the electrical supervisor. Complex work or large jobs are checked for conformance to standard trade practices and National Electric Code (NEC) upon completion. The employee in this class has no supervisory responsibilities. Work requires climbing, heavy lifting, and working from aerial lifts, crawling through tunnels and attics, high voltage danger, and exposure to inclement weather. Perform preventative maintenance on related equipment as required. Must be ready to work overtime.
Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION: 1. Possess a high school diploma. 2. Completion of an electrical vocational training program is preferred. 3. Possess a valid Texas Drivers License
EXPERIENCE: 1. Certified technical training in the electrical field, or at least 3-years of hands-on experience as an electrician, in lieu of certified training. 2. Good communication and customer service skills essential 3. Commercial or Industry electrical related work experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: 1. Operates and performs work from aerial lifts as required 2. Reads, interprets, and executes drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications 3. Uses voltmeters, amp meters, and other test equipment, as well as hand tools of the electrical trade. 4. Installs repairs, or replaces electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts 5. Installs electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment 6. Corrects poor connections and bad wiring on equipment controls 7. Conducts preventive and maintenance programs/keeps maintenance records 8. Records labor and material used on assigned jobs in the work order data system 9. Complies, follows and enforces all applicable safety practices and rules. 10. Ready and willing to work overtime or variable shifts as required
