LICENSE A valid California Class C Driver License is required to perform job-related essential functions.
A valid certification as a combination inspector** from a recognized code certification organization in a code used by the County of Los Angeles.
PHYSICAL CLASS Physical Class II – Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION *Experience at the level of the County of Los Angeles class of Senior Building Engineering Inspector is defined as: performs field inspections to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances related to a full range of the more complex building construction and property rehabilitation projects.
**Applicants MUST attach copies of their valid combination inspector certificate (Commercial Building, Commercial Electrical, Commercial Mechanical, and Commercial Plumbing) to their application within fifteen (15) calendar days of filing. Applications submitted without the required certificate will be rejected as incomplete.
In accordance with the provisions of the California Health and Safety Code Section 18949, which requires the valid certification of building inspector and certain other titles, persons appointed to such tittle prior to January 1, 1994, who have remained in continuous County employment on such titles, shall be exempt from the certification provision of the California Health and Safety Code 18949.
License Information: All successful applicants for this position will be required to obtain a copy of his/her driving record from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles before being appointed. A copy of your driving record must be presented at the time of your appointment. License must not be suspended, restricted or revoked. AN APPLICANT WHOSE DRIVING RECORD SHOWS FOUR OR MORE MOVING VIOLATIONS WITHIN THE LAST TWO YEARS WILL NOT BE APPOINTED.
