The position requires the ability to operate with limited direct daily instruction and to apply knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
These tasks may include, but are not limited to
Experimentally test and evaluate QPC Lasers' product line of high power, high brightness diode lasers
Develop and evaluate new procedures, processes and work instruction
Work with other members of the engineering and operations staff to ensure that products are developed to meet all performance and quality standards in a timely matter
Assemble and test customized products
B.S. degree in Photonics, Optics, Physics, or other Science Discipline
Hands-on optical laboratory skills including optical handling, assembly, and alignment
Thorough knowledge of optical and electrical test equipment
Experience with some or all of the following: optical design, diode lasers, DPSSLs, fiber lasers, mounting of optical components, optical alignment.
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Industrial laser experience is a plus
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status is required
