The Theatrical Electrician II, under general supervision, oversees the operation and maintenance of all lighting, electrical, and audio/visual equipment within an events facility.
Required Education and Experience:
High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years in the maintenance and operation of electrical equipment in a theater complex, including one year supervisory experience.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of elect tools, A/V equipment, sound/lighting consoles, and electrical switchboards.
Knowledge of sound, lighting & video consoles, controllers & devices. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
Customer service oriented.
Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and special events as necessary.
Supervises the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring and theatrical lighting systems. Installs, maintains, and repairs electric motors, generators, and simple electrical equipment.
Performs quick emergency repairs requiring total familiarity with lighting and electrical equipment. Operates an electrical switchboard and sound console during performances. Sets up and operates audio/visual equipment for meetings. Provides and operates additional electrical equipment as needed for special University functions. Installs, maintains, and repairs electric motors, generators, and simple electrical equipment.
Provides and operates additional electrical equipment as needed for special University functions and assists with general event set up. Performs quick emergency repairs requiring total familiarity with lighting and electrical equipment.
Trains part-time/occasional employees. Provides work assignments and indirect supervision of student workers. Performs other duties as assigned.
